About Me

My name is Chad Franklin, I am the Corporate CAD Coordinator for a Canadian multi-discipline engineering firm with 23 offices across Canada. I provide drawing production coordination including CAD standards development and implementation, technical support and training to the company’s 450 Autodesk users.

Having 25 years of experience primarily on civil infrastructure and transportation design, since 2012 I have been dedicated to full-time development of corporate CAD standards including extensive templates, macros/scripts and lisp, tool palette sets, sheet set manager implementation and quality management respective to drawing production.

First version of AutoCAD I used was R12 (DOS based) back in 1992. I have experience with each version of AutoCAD since then as well as several vertical products such as Civil 3D (and previously, Land Development Desktop), Raster Design, Map and several other Autodesk products.

I am an Autodesk Expert Elite Member, Autodesk Certified Professional (AutoCAD) and a member of multiple Autodesk Customer Councils (Product Delivery, Product Research and Visual Design Research) including the Autodesk Beta Program.

I have attended Autodesk University each year since 2013; 2017/18 and 19 as a 'Top Rated' AU speaker/instructor and speaker mentor.
